Here are some reasons..

Because Serpent's Isle crashes when used with DRI himem.sys, and works when
used with the one from Windows.

Also, UMBPCI won't work with DRI himem.sys, and I need that now because my new
SCSI driver is so big.
EMM386 is too buggy for general use, at least with the software I'm using, and
several programs I use regularly won't work under VCPI.
