You should try to get a SB16 since *everything* works with it, however the
new SB Live works as SB16 in DOS, but will probably be faster (PCI instead
of ISA bus) and will give you more speakers. Eventually there will probably
be games in DOS that can take advantage of these things, then it's going to
be really creapy playing new levels or deatmatch in DOOM :)
Anyway, the price isn't that much diffrent (probably even cheaper for a SB
Live VE then a SB16 VE) so I would get a Live card if I would need a new one.
DOS has *real* Plug'n'Play, all graphic cards work, so just get a S3 card
with 4MB of memmory and you can run things with lots of colours. (if the
program has this as an option) A S3 card will probably make it easier for
you if/when you try Linux since there shouldn't be any problem locating
drivers.
However all new games in W95 don't like S3 cards (like Star Wars: Shadows
of the Empire and Rouge Squadron sine they utilize 3D functions)
