Okay.  Go to  http://www.highfiber.com/~raster/freeware.htm  and grab
Mdir.zip.  Lengthy documentation included, but the basic idea is to
use DOSKEY to intercept the internal DIR command and substitute MDIR,
an external directory lister with MS-DOS compatible syntax.  Let me
know how it works for you.
