Sometimes a reference surfaces ( german opndos pages) about the DRI GEM
VDI and AES, DRI's kind of windows when MS Windows was not very popular.

It was very fast and more simple and of course did less. When we had to
convert to windows 3.0 in '92 are app (2.5 MB exe file) slowed about 25%
on the same hardware.

As we once did a port of the 2.0 version to Atari 520 ST in '87, I still
have a soft spot for it. It is quite easy to port the AES services to 32
bit. VDI may take some more work.

Are there any plans of using this by Caldera ?
