I think Caldera is testing the waters or what ever you want to call it.  I
think one of the reasons it is gaining recognition and popularity is because
it is "free".  They (Caldera) obviuosly would like to make some money from
it, However.  It is my opinion that the current wording is to see if people
are willing to pay for it, without requiring it be paid for and then
loosing a good customer base.

That is just an opinion, However.  In fact I would go as far as calling it a
guess :-)
