Hear hear - it also makes it easier for those of us who lose the thread to
pick it up again - especially when you come back from holiday and download
hundreds of e-mails it's useful to be able to skip some of them :)

Don't know if you'd noticed this...  but I've only had that problem with
Microsoft clients and FirstMail (for Novell MHS).  My ISPs on-line
mailreader and my copy of Netscape seem to quote in this format - I have to
edit the quotes in Microsoft Outlook Express :(  But it is a terrible waste
of bandwidth...
