Try loading everything high in your autoexec

ie: LH MOUSE

Use the DR-DOS NWCDEX in place of MSCDEX, NWCDEX will load into your XMS via
DMPS

In your config anain load all your devices high

ie: DEVICEHIGH C:\UTILITY\SAMSUNG\SSCDROM.SYS /D:SSCD000 /v

and add the /XMSUMB peramiter to your EMM386 line

that should help a lot
