The first time I did that (DR-DOS made changes to the .ini files that
weren't needed by me - network stuff). Had the problem then.
This time the installation was after DR-DOS.

A Bernie mentioned the following:
-----
I think the problem is the fact that the Command.Com that are used in
Windows is not the same as the one you have for DOS. You could try to simply
renaming the Command.Com to Command.Bak and then copy the Command.Com from
your C:\ (or whatever) into your Windows directory.
-----

Although there was no command.com in the Windows directory I copied
the one from c:\ to it. That seemed to work actually.
Both my 4DOS (which is my shell) and command.com worked.
Both full-screen and in a window (at one point 4DOS worked when I
set it to full-screen but it locked up the machine when I hit
alt-enter). This was before the fix above.

Update:
Decided to test again before sending out the above. Short-lived I guess.
Still doesn't work. Opening a DOS box just locks up the whole shebang.
Can't figure this stuff out. The 4DOS appnotes and the manuals have
been consulted. Surprisingly enough there are no appnotes or any notes
regarding Win3.x with DR-DOS that apply. Too bad.

What's a person to do. Any pointers/links for troubleshooting?
