"Warnungen" is clearly "warnings."  Sure enough, color 4 is used for
the title bars of error-message windows.  (Making EDIT display an error
box is not easy!  Try editing a password-protected file.)  Thanks,

Keep us posted!  There's a huge amount of information in there that
I'd like to be able to browse someday.

I see a long section about SwitChar, but I don't see directions on
how to patch out COMMAND.COM's horribly buggy SwitChar handling.
Would you like that info?
