Heheh.  Actually, I thought the ems spec didn't allow for more than 16MB,
so this is a surprise to me. :)  One of my systems has 28MB in it, and I'd
never seen all of it via extended or expanded memory.  I'll have to try
some of these tricks, and see what happens. :)
As for microsoft, I've been microsoft clear for many years, (as soon as dr
dos 5.0 came out) and even before that, for a short time I used pc dos
4.00 :)  So, I think the only ms dos I used was 3.3 :)
Other than that, the only microsoft products I have is macro assembler ver
5.1 )because it's slightly more compatible with most apps than is turbo
assembler) and microsoft pascal 4.0 and that only because I had a bbs
package that had been written in it, and microsoft pascal has some funny
things in it that don't translate well to turbo pascal.  
Otherwise, I use borland products for all of my language needs (turbo c++,
and believe it or not, turbo basic ver 1.1) which became power basic a
while ago.  I used to own a copy of that too, but sold it to someone who
wanted it more than I did. :))
Nothing but dos and linux for this pc user. :)
Good to see others are doing the same.  But this brings me to another
point.
Since opendos is based on dr dos, and that in turn is based on novel dos
(or is that the other way around?) Anyway, I have another pascal compiler
here called fsp (frontier software pascal) and it allows you to use as
much memory as you like without loading any extenders or anything at all.
Large arrays are defined just like you would for standard arrays in
regular turbo pascal, but you can use up to something like 16MB for them.
In any case, this product doesn't work with opendos.  Apparently, emm386
of opendos is significantly different from msdos emm386.  As a result,
this excellent package won't work for me. *cry*  I have put it back in
storage, until something else can be done with opendos, since I refuse to
go back to msdos for anything, even an excellent pascal compiler. :)
