ViewMAX 2 was available with DR DOS 6.0 (if you can find that

However, you could try Geoworks' GEOS alias New Deal. A demo-version
of New Deal Office for PCs running under DOS is available at New 
Deal's web- server (links to them can be found at the links pages of
my web-pages). Actually, GEOS is more than a graphical multitasking 
shell, it has its own object-oriented APIs which allows to develop
powerful yet small applications.
