Subject: Re: Latest Version of OpenDOS?
Mime-Version: 1.0

On 98-01-14 Richard Kanarek asked:

>A while back, I PURCHASED the OpenDOS CD. As I'm toying with the idea of
>(finally) doing some `tinkering' with it, I'd like to know:
>	a. Do I have the latest version? (My purchase was about a year ago?)
Probably not. The current release is DR-OpenDOS 7.02 as of 12/1997, and much
has changed compared to OpenDOS 7.01(of spring 1997). For feature comparisons
the backlogs of these mailing lists should be a good source.

>	b. Is there somewhere I could download the latest files? (Preferably in
one archived file so I know I'm not missing anything.)
Yes, please have a look at Caldera s web-site at http://www.caldera.com/ .
You can download DR-OpenDOS 7.02 there, and also the kernel source code
of 7.01 (AFAIK COD 7.02 kernel sources should be available soon). You don t
need a password any more (as recently stated wrong in a few magazines).
You can also find betas of WebSpyder and LONGNAME there.

>	c. Is there an upgrade-on-disk/CD available? If so, anyone know
>anything about how much it is and how I order it?
DR-DOS 7.02 will soon also be available on CD-ROM etc. Please watch Caldera s
web-page for details.
