Hi all,

I've finally got a small network running under PNW/OD7.02B2. At the moment,
only the server runs OD until I can find the mods nedded to support various
eccentric bits of hardware in the workstations.

The problem is this: NET.EXE is *too big*! One workstation has two 360Kb
floppy drives and no HDD, so I need a small login program. Will LOGIN.EXE
NW3.12 work on PNW? Or can PNW have a directory like NW's \LOGIN directory
for this sort of stuff?

Also, when I login from the other workstations, I sometimes get an error
(-3205 I think - I'll check next time it happens), and occasionally a
corrupt server/workgroup name. Running NET LOGIN prints various garbage -
mainly "Au", but sometimes screenfuls of random ASCII then a cold reboot is
triggered. Is this due to running MS-DOS v3.2 (buggy HDD support, Amstrad
PC1512/1640 version supporting funny mouse interface (mapped to keyboard)
and RTC), or to some other problem? The hardware seems fine - taken from a
perfectly healthy NW3.12 network. I'm running cheapernet - frame type
Ethernet802.2 - and the bus is properly terminated. The server is a 80286
with 1Mb RAM and 20Mb HDD, the working workstation is a 8086 with 640Kb RAM,
32Mb HDD, and the non-working workstation is an 8086 with 512Kb RAM, no HDD.

Thanks in advance,
Ben Jemmett
