You *have* the 7.02 release (non-BETA), which is available since that
date.
In general: The easiest way to find out which version you are running,
is to look at the startup message: If it says "DR-OpenDOS", it s the release,
if it says "OpenDOS", it s one of the BETAs. For more detailed info on minor
upgrades etc. toggle Scrollock on (to enter the new DIAG mode) before this
message is displayed. You will then get info about loaded kernel files and
internal build info (at the moment, only IBMBIO.COM displays this info, but
IBMDOS.COM is prepared to do the same in the near future). You can also
run PNW s VERSION on these files containing build info, or - if executable - just
start them from the prompt (beware to start kernel files before OpenDOS 7.02
BETA2 from the prompt - this will crash your system!)
Concerning changes:
From the BETA2 to the release version, there have been only minor changes,
which usually won t affect the user (the ROMability of the system was enhanced,
and the documentation partially updated - however, many of the new features
are still not documented at the moment, which will probably change in the future.)

LONGNAME is not (yet) part of OpenDOS.

Forget about it. Use the OpenDOS 7.02 COMMAND.COM, which fully supports
LFNs (given that some form of LFN support is active) and also loads as
Windows95 command shell, but goes much further with other new features.
