Hi All.

I sure like OpenDos.
I just downloaded and installed the complete 7.02 (not beta) version.
There has been lots of nice additions over the last several months.

What is the future for OpenDOS?
will it be slowly merged with linux?
Will it become 32-bit?
Will it have a gui for it?

What about the internet connectivity ...
will we just be able to install 32 bit webspy or will there be a
seperate packet driver, ftp command line client or what?

What about 32-bit fat?
What about being able to use the taskmgr multi for modem communications?
For now the docs say it's not supported and I can't get it to work.
What about being able to use completely different configurations in each
task?
for example each task having a autoexec.bat config.sys some with dpmi
others with out, some with himem.sys others with emm386.exe etc.
The reason for this is pharlap doesn't like emm386 at all.

What about a more much more powerfull batch language or a basic
programming language for OpenDOS?
Maybe rexx or any ideas?

I think things are moving along varry well but, does any one have the
vision that caldera has for this OS?

I think we need some ideas some vision some way to plan for the future.
If we don't know should we just go to linux / win95 / win (NT)?

I would love to see dos become internet capable not just (graphical)
(gui) but text mode command line capable.
I would like to see real audio mpeg .mp3 , sound editors ... new
programs for DOS.
but, the only way for programmers to get interested enough is if there
is a general outline vision specs ... plan for the future.

Just my two cents!
Thanks
Sam
