i have a question and my question is basicaly relating to this
you see,OS/2 provide DOS (and windows too) service to the users (and program
too)

>One intresting experiment, still underway, is booting Specific DOS
>versions under OS/2 (VMB - Virtual Machine Boot) from Drive C:, when

my question is related to something like that (the Virtual Machine Boot)

>booting OS/2 with DOS still installed on the partition boot sector.
>This brings up the LOADER menu, and you can select which DOS version
>to run then, instead of needing to have a seperate disk image
>for each version of DOS you want to run as an application under OS/2 Warp.
>The same should be possible under DOSEmu in LINUX.

one thing that got my head spinning would be to have linux service under
OpenDOS,you see, with the help of the task manager and DPMS (or DPMI)
service,i would reserve 8 meg ram for OD and another 8 meg for linux (i have
only 16 meg on this machine),i know it's possible to have exactly the
contrary of my statement (i.e.DOS services under linux) but i want ot
investigate my way of doing it (it's because i dont have much knowledge of
linux and i want to learn it,one time,i tried to install it on my uncle's
pentium and we both have run into a brick wall because we were not very
prepared and we where not knowing anything about using it),i just want to
have a back door to linux if i need to (and with DOS running,i could revert
to DOS each time i need to)

my hard disk is already partitionned as C: D: and E: drives (1.7 gig
drive),my system is a 486/DX2,50 mhz with 16 meg ram (i will install more
memory sometime in 98 if i need to do so) and a CD (and a CD-rom of linux
too,i did not download it via the internet, one thing i need to know if will
netscape communicator for linux would run inside 8 meg ram, even if it's slow
??)

>I speak only for myself, and assume full responsibility for my statements.

me too,and sometime i got hosed !!
