If you have not actually used the DR DOS style password protection scheme
this indicates corrupted directory entries on either your harddisk (target)
or your floppy (source). It is most likely, that you have written the files to floppy
on a Windows95 system using long filenames. Since LFN use the directory
entries in an rather incompatible way, an OS of the DR DOS family could misinterpret them as passwords, being applied to the files.

There are several things you can do:

- Try installing Caldera s LONGNAME driver to support long filenames
  under OpenDOS.
- If the problem is located on your floppy, I recomment to run an old
version (that is before 1995) of PC-Tools DISKFIX or Norton Utilities
Disk Doctor (NDD), which will most probably report currupted info
on the disk. Answer Yes to the queries, if these tools shall correct the
problem. They will wipe out the wrong cells in the directory entries
with zeros and afterwards, DR DOS family OSes are no longer
 fooled by misinterpreting the entries.
-You can do the same manually using a disk editor like Norton s DISKEDIT.

Hope this helps,

 Matthias
