MRS, Machine Readable Source.

This is now known as the OpenDOS OEM kit, and it is a (relatively)
friendly way of recompiling the source code for OEMS who wish to
do so.  It also has a lot of system documentation in printed form.

It's probably a bit out of your price range :-)
