I, too, am tired of all the complaining that goes on in this list.  It
seems to me that OpenDOS is both free and for sale.  If you call Caldera
and order a copy of OpenDOS, you'll get the product, the manuals and the
support in return for parting with some of your money.  If, on the other
hand, you don't care about support and printed manuals, download it and
don't part with a penny.

I am glad that Caldera released the kernel sources, whether they are
up-to-date with respect to 7.02 or not.  It would be _nice_ if they
released the source to some of the utilities, too, but since they were not
obliged to release ANY of it, I don't feel it is fair to complain.  I, at
least, appreciate Caldera's efforts to keep DOS alive; I use Windows where
necessary, but for what I want to do, DOS is faster and I can live without
the GUI.  

It could be more robust (for example, separate user space from kernel
space), smarter (segment:offset sucks) and faster (use ALL of the features
of the the 386 instruction set), and I hope Caldera will continue to devote
resources towards enhancing DOS.

You can either be part of the problem or part of the solution; I'll take
the latter.
