Not exactly... I was using an intermediate build that cured almost all of my
problems from 7.01.
Now I've just installed 7.02 light, and here's what I found:
1. Makedisk. Makedisk shells out to the wrong version of DISKCOPY.
The supplied version does not support /s and returns an
error.
2. Taskmgr. Task manager went apeshit, causing an exception 6 when it
was unloaded.
3. Quake and Doom. Here's an interesting one:
on my machine (which brings out all bugs), a dilemma:
I can only run DOOM with PIC=ON.
I can only run Quake with PIC=OFF!
Fortunately I don't like Quake much, but other
people do.
4. "DOUG",0x01,"2000"
This is a signal I embedded in the kernel code, so that
Year 2000 support can be disabled.
The DOUG and the 2000 strings are to help locate it.
The 1 in the middle is the Y2K support. Set this to 0
using a hex editor and Y2k support switches off.
But without the marker strings, how can you find it?
They should be in ibmbio.com, but don't seem to be
there. Perhaps the linker stripped it out..?
>Thanks!
