ED> The OS/2 boot manager works quite well. It comes bundled with
ED> Partition Magic. I've posted instructions on how to setup Win95
ED> and OpenDOS to the list before, you can read them in the archives
ED> at www.delorie.com/opendos.
Will definitely check that out. The floppy boot gives me a chance
to nose around a bit before I commit my system to anything more
permanent. TKS for the tip.
ED> The only mention of filelist I found in dosbook works like this:
ED> 1) Create a text file containing all the files you want to work with.
ED> It should look like this:
ED> somefile.txt
ED> woo.hoo
ED> blah\something.new
ED> 2) Commands that support the file lists work like this (assuming
ED> you named the file files.del)
ED> xdel @files.del
ED> this runs xdel on all the files listed in files.del
That's pretty much what I read too. Alas, no luck.
Here's what's in Gmp.lst......
c:\odos\wrk2\gmp
c:\odos\wrk2\tst.bak
c:\odos\wrk2\tst.bat
..... and here's what's in Tst.bat.....
@echo off
cls
dir c:\odos\wrk2\@gmp.lst
..... I even tried.....
@echo off
cls
dir @c:\odos\wrk2\gmp.lst
All files are in c:\odos\wrk2 and c:\odos\wrk2 was current
at the time of running. The response was "File not found".
ED> Of course, if you want powerful batch files, go to www.jpsoft.com
ED> and get 4dos. 4dos' batch file features are much more powerful than
ED> MS-DOS and OpenDOS.
If I need to beef up Batch I usually go to GWbasic but I mostly
like to work as close to "vanilla" as possible. I,d like to find
out just how far bareback ODOS will take me before I have to
get into enhancers or Command.com replacements.
