Sounds like there's some 
other installer with the 
same command name on the 
path, I installed OpenDOS on 
a V40-based XT architecture 
system with Hercules graphics 
and, although the install was 
not seamless, there were no 
such error messages, which are 
typical of Windows apps when 
an attempt is made to run 
them from a DOS prompt.  Try 
logging into the install 
directory and prefacing the 
command with a "C:".

Believe it or not, I *do* 
have an 8-bit ArcNET card -- 
not what you need, but it 
bodes well for eventually 
turning an Ethernet card up.
