Hi all... I managed to get both etherppp, and the ppp port from linux
to work in Opendos. There are some programs that will work under
these drivers, the first 2 that come to mind are DOS-Lynx and IRC.
The DOs-Lynx browser is still in beta, and irc is IRC101.ZIP, both
can be found on simtelnet. There's also a trumpet for dos dir on
simtelnet, but I haven't a clue as to whether or not any of these
files will work.

PC-Pine seems to have problems locating the server, runs out of mem really
fast, and will only run with the etherppp driver, so far.

Lynx for dos ( not to be confused with DosLynx) will load with the
cwsdpmi driver, but doesn't resolve any addresses, irregardless of
whether or not decimal ip notation is used. There seems to be a
problem with the ppp driver making it across dpmi sessions, so you
might want to start cwsdpmi first, then etherppp, then load lynx.
Be careful tho, because the cwsdpmi driver will unload when lynx does.

There's an old ansi telnet that will resolve to addresses. You'll have to
look for it at simtelnet.

If you're having problems getting arachne to run, the etherppp driver
is the solution. I used the outboard epp driver, and a small dialppp.cfg
file to connect it to the inet, but you have to connect after you start
arachne. Otherwise, it won't find the driver. But, aside from that,
Arachne is nice, and handles graphics well.

That's about all I've found so far, but I'll keep toying with it as
time permits.
