This is a chicken-and-egg question.  The popularity of an OS depends
heavily on the number of applications written explicitly for it.  The
number of applications written for it depends on its popularity.

If we fall into that trap, there will never be *any* new OSes.  I think
it's perfectly reasonable to try to extend OpenDOS as far as we can,
and to try to exploit the current technology to its fullest.
