Just as a note to say that unlike VBE or DirectX, X-Windows is a GUI, not
a graphic layer. It goes through the network and though it *is* quite
flexible, it's not an action game environment (it is known for it very
noticeable overhead, so its a no-no for games). It should be more
comparable to the Linux-GGI effort than to the XFree86 project.
