First, did you manage to run the setup program at all?
It looks sort of like windows..

This user interface has been known to cause trouble.
You can disable it by editing the opendos.ini (I think) file
and looking for the line "newui = 1" or 'on' or whatever.
You must make sure that newui is OFF or ZERO!!
You may need to edit the bootdisk to do this...

Could it possibly be the first line of the autoexec.bat ..?

Also, using another disk, check that ibmbio.sys and ibmdos.sys
ARE on your opendos boot disk.  They will be HIDDEN, SYSTEM files.
