for us people that have a working knowledge of command-line processors
(and feel comfortable using one), the advantages are probably very slim.
however, if we want to actually take a bite into the poplar computing
market, a GUI is a necessity.  most people have no clue how to use a
commandline processor, and they don't want to learn.
