Are you changing the signature in AUTOEXEC.BAT on the NWCDEX line as well?

My config.sys contains:

DEVICEHIGH=C:\CLUTTER\MAXIDE.SYS /D:MAXCD001

and autoexec.bat contains:

LH NWCDEX /s /d:maxcd001 /m:6 /v

and it all works!

This is quite unlikely IMHO...

...that also sounds like it's installing fine, but NWCDEX ain't 
finding it.
