The i/o error stays there even with the first disk put back in the = drive.Have to reboot or power down to clear it. I had similar experiences, though I didn't attribute it to OpenDOS at = the time. Once a disk failed to read properly (and it happened = frequently), it was impossible to read any disk in the drive until I had = powered off the machine -- cold reboots wouldn't even clear it. I don't = recall whether the disks had labels and/or serial numbers; I suspect = they did not. -Calvin
