I think symlinks are a needed addition... it allows us to have multiple
copies of a file with only one "real" copy, so we save disk space.

And as for mount, I am sure you will be happy to hear that we already have
something similar to mount.  It's called join.  You can basically put any
drive at any directory location on any other drive.  The only problem is
it has some compatibility trouble with Windows, etc.
