According to the article, Sun is planning to release a set of Java
tools that would run on top of DOS.   The idea is to make 
older 486's into Java workstations.  As of the writing (February 10),
there was no release date set.  A spokesperson said that more information
would be avaliable in April.

I agree this is an excellent use for Open DOS and older computers.
