Install things into the /usr/local/ heirarchy and it is much
easier to uninstall software.  A simple bash script can create
an uninstall listfile that will go nicely into the package
directory.  Once again, this could be extended to DOS.  Legacy
programs could even work with this method.  (albeit not all)
