Novell logged several problems with Novell DOS 7's Install stalling. A 
quick scan throws up:
   one/some SCSI controllers
   Conner tape software
   turbo button
   some Gateway Pentium machines.

I can't say about OpenDOS, but I'd expect it to be the same. They 
probably had workarounds, but I'd have to look them up.
