I have an alternative to using DEBUG for those who are "shy" - it's a
program called "part", and was designed as a boot manager similar to
GRUB (but not as good).  However, it's menu has an option to save the
MBR to a file, and you only need to have a copy of the program on the
hard disk to do it ( it doesn't have to be installed to the MBR to
work). :)  if anyone wants a copy, please check out:

BTW, it's FREEWARE, and it's small (with full source).
