Well, it would be your responsibility to send someone a disk that
they could use.  I mean not allowing ext2 on floppies just
because everyone doesn't have ext2 is silly.  How would I copy
personal files to disk for backup, or to transfer to another ext2
system?  I'd have to zip them.

Personally, right now I'm using the method that you are saying in
Linux.  Ie: backing up Linux stuff to MSDOS FAT disks by
targz'ing them to the disk with a 8.3 name (LNXBACK.TGZ).  This
makes it easy to view disks in DOS because dos doesn't understand
ext2.  If I made an ext2 floppy right now, then there would be a
good chance that I'd format it thinking it was a blank disk in
DOS when I got the "Invalid media" error in DOS.  (I don't always
label disks).

I'd use FAT disks mainly for most things in DOS, but I would want
to also be able to use ext2 disks as well.

I'm sure it is possible.  It would be a nice thing to have.
