I'm unfamiliar with tape backup drives in either DOS or UNIX so
I'm not entirely sure how it would be implemented.  I imagine it
would be done with mount however.  You might want to check out
the Linux Tape backup HOWTO.  I haven't read it, however I've got
it if you want it.
