I am successfully running OpenDOS with QEMM version 7.53 and have not
experienced any problems except when trying to run Task Manager, which
crashed. I understand however that multitasking requires features found in
emm386.exe. Presumably QEMM 8.0 would also work, but I have not updated my
copy yet. Incidentally, there is a QEMM technical note on Novell DOS 7 in
the file nw&drdos.tec, which is located in the qemm\technotes directory. I
followed the instructions found in this file when installing OpenDOS.
Essentially, you are required to change an option in QEMM's DOS-UP feature
so that command.com is loaded into conventional memory. Then, you should
run optimize and, when optimization is complete, start the OpenDOS
installation programme. Further details on this procedure and other
suggestions can be found in the aforementioned technical note. I have
found that QEMM's optimization works well with OpenDOS on my system.

Regards,

Jason White.
