If caldera can't have the fat32 i.f.s., this allows them actually
a better deal than would have been the case had M$oft had made this 
freeware.  It may take a bit longer, but if caldera puts competent
programmers on the project, dollars to doughnuts they can program 
better and tighter code than any of Gaits's best.
There's another advantage in this situation,,  fat32 is a known
quantity with known problems and even without the source code another
throw at an independent i.f.s. if anything is likely to make new mistakes.
With appropriate support, likely with time even those could
be overcome.
