I think that geda-gaf requires version 2.0. Version 2.2 might be too new to
work. Try explicitly specifying the path to guile on the configure command
line.

There used to be a homebrew formula, so, you shouldn't have to compile it
manually. I don't know if it's still maintained though.

The MacPorts issue was resolved, it currently works.
