That's how to do transformers.   Iterate and test.

Push pull avoids saturation, requires custom parts.

If you want a flyback inductor system, you still have to keep outflow/inflow balanced or saturation.
So simple single ended PWM doesn't work unless it is low duty cycle so the inflow is always a good bit less than the outflow.
