Agree for the most part, though I'm still not seeing the saving using
mark vs. subsequent click in the Import case.

Well I used it ok as a noob, I just ignored most of the broken-seeming
menu items and less visible hotkeys until now missing out on a lot of
convenience in some places.  So the troubles are they look bad at
first glance (noob issue) and I suspect lots of people never figure
them out (noob->expert transition issue).
