Just hoping for a solution to fix the inconsistencies across all the PO folders and make it easy to move i18n strings from one program to another.

In my view, putting the PO folder at the root would make the strings separate from libgeda - it would not have a separate textdomain. Any program or library binding the “geda” textdomain would get all the strings for all gEDA programs an libraries.

Yes on making our (developers and translators) world easier. Between C, Glib, and Gtk+ boilerplate the developers have their work cut out for them.

I was trying to move an i18n string from gschem to libeda while preserving the work of the translators. So far, merging the strings looks cumbersome. The merge is four strings in 13 languages. Any suggestions on an easy mechanism to move the strings and preserve the translations would be appreciated.
