yes, it is probably useful almost every time then an sub sheet is used more than once in a hierarchical design. Examples, design a two- or three-phase inverter with half bridges, Add several IO ports of the same kind with EMI filter, it may also be useful to get correct (sub) sheet number for design reuse.

For panelization it is however not useful since these are simple copies.
