Rats are fixed-pixel size.  You could use the same technique it uses
to draw fixed-pixel-size points.  IIRC sizes less than a certain
number of nanometers are reinterpreted as pixels instead.  I don't
know if *all* the hid APIs support this trick, but if not, perhaps we
should consider that a bug.

If you make the spot size user-selectable, the user can select between
fixed-board-size and fixed-pixel-size.
