I translated the standard gnetlist backends, as well as the other backends 
I knew about, to Python and updated them to use the new API.  I certainly 
didn't reimplement them; on the contrary, I put much effort into keeping 
the differences as small as possible (and even went so far as to include 
the spurious space characters at the end of lines) as I have no way to 
tell if a different output would still be valid.

It makes me sad that this is the only point about the netlister which is 
debated on this list.
