DJ, priceless piece of advice. I *really* wish we'd done this on the 
last board we had 24 way FFC connectors on. (I updated my footprint file 
the day the boards arrived from the fab! doh!)

The extra space to draw the solder away from the pins makes the 
difference between dragging a puddle from end to end repeatedly vs 
immediately clearing the bridges!
