Try "model-name=PFWR gain=2" on the X1 symbol. It's the only way I've found to force parameters onto the X line. There's actually a patch on launchpad that will make it easier to do that. https://bugs.launchpad.net/geda/+bug/698736 patches the netlister so that the .subckt can get parameters when you do the lower-level schematic with the SPICE-SUBCKT-LL symbol (I have found no way to make it do so yet without the patch).
