I did two boards in 2011 with precise dimensions that turned out fine
and had no troubles using pcb gschem.  They did not use polygons other
than pads though.

I just asked about boards at hackvana.com on their irc channel yesterday
and they are ready to use gEDA pcb generated gerber files when named
a certain way.  There are people out there using pcb that don't say much.
