I probably should have been clearer -- I'm 90% of the way to having a

Well, I hope it will not disappoint you that the actual gschem user
interface probably won't change drastically over the 1.9.x series
(unless a miracle occurs), although I hope that the user *experience*
will significantly improved!  And of course, my recent bugfix/feature
request spree may have benefited people who run unstable.
