There are many ambiguous cases. One question in my mind is how to decide which attributes to translate. Your concern suggests I should have different syntax in the spice-prototype attribute for SI dimensioned numerical quantities versus other attributes.

It is very common to specify the characteristics of elementary SPICE devices in terms of their geometry. In some cases, the dynamic range is extreme. MOSFET gate widths range from nanometers (components of fast, low fanout internal gates) to meters (folded up in power devices).
